About Us

Hours of Operation

The centre operates between the hours of 6.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Chuckles Childcare is open 52 week a year, but will be closed on all public holidays. Payment is required for all days booked, which includes; holidays, public holidays, absences due to sickness and personal absences. The only exceptions are; Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Meals

All meals are prepared fresh on the premises by our centre’s chef. This is in accordance with the “Eat Right, Start Right” standards to ensure we meet the daily nutritional needs of children within each age grouping. Chef Gary has NVQ level 2 food preparation and cooking and NVQ level 3 patisserie and confectionary qualifications and our food handlers have a certificate in food safety training (‘I’m alert in food safety’).  Chuckles Childcare food safety program is set out and guided by the ‘Food Technology Services’ company.

Centre meal times:

Breakfast: 6.50am,   Morning tea (open café): 8.20am to 9am,   Lunch: 11.20am to 1pm,   Light tea: 3.00pm
and Afternoon snack: 5.00pm.   Water is available to each child throughout the day.

Family Participation

Parents are encouraged to be involved in the center as much as possible. This can be achieved by; sharing a skill such as singing and/or playing a musical instrument, offering your support at parent meetings or by participating during the day (special occasions) and experiencing the various activities undertaken by the children. Parent help is encouraged during term 2, 3 & 4 from 9.30am to 11am (within the preschool groups only).

Information Available to Families

Chuckles Childcare offers information and support to all families regarding: child health and safety, support agencies, centre management, the curriculum, documentation, environment set up and all other aspects relating to childcare. Families are welcome to take available brochures which are located in the foyer. Relevant posters and information will be displayed within the foyer and in our community display cabinet.

What to Wear

Please dress your son/daughter in clothing that is comfortable and does not restrict play. Practical lose fitting clothing is best “no overalls/dungarees” as these are difficult during toileting. Chuckles Childcare is a sun smart centre which means all children are required to wear tops that cover their shoulders. Singlets and shoe string sundresses are not permitted. All children should be able to participate in and enjoy the activities on offer, so please do not dress them in their best outfits, they are here to have fun. Our moto is: ‘A dirty kid, is a happy kid’.

All Weather Centre

Chuckles Childcare is an all-weather centre. Children learn through experiences from all different climates and as we promote being a sun smart centre we also promote winter fun. By providing your children with a water proof jacket and gumboots, they will be able to explore their environment on light rainy days.

Payments

For us to provide a viable service to all families within the community, we ask that fees are paid promptly each Friday.

Banking of fees

We are a direct debit only centre and all fees will be debited from your nominated savings account. A detailed statement will be emailed each week and within each statement, you will receive a dated receipt, which is in accordance with Commonwealth Guidelines. Fees will be processed on Friday of every week.

Bond

A $100 cash bond will be required to confirm your child’s enrolment. This will be used to cover any outstanding fees and/or the two weeks’ notice period. The bond payment is returned in full when two weeks written notice (that care is no longer required) is given and your account is up to date.

Fees are still required to be paid when your child is absent from care due to; sickness, annual leave, public holidays and personal absences.
